Small Planet for Android
 français

What planet are you from?

Generate a small-planet from where you are and send it as a postcard to your friends!

This application makes a stereographic projection of your location on the map where Street View is available.
It is also possible to project one photograph coming from the camera roll.
Slide your finger on the screen, and then you can continuously move from a bird's eye view in the sky (mini-planet) to an insect view at ground level!

QUICK START

  1. Select the origin of the planet:
    1. Either select a place on the map (you can zoom with two fingers).
Then, click on the map where the roads are blues.
Push the "Planet" button to generate the planet.
    2. Or click on the button Camera to load an existing photo from the gallery (360° panorama or world map give the best result).
  2. Adjust the planet like you want with one finger, zoom with two or move with three.
  3. Push the "Share" or "Save" button to save the result (I.e.: on the applications Facebook, Twitter, Thumblr, Email or in the photo album).
  4. Add a bookmark by pushing the "Star" button to get it back later.

Note: You can use the application with a mouse.

REQUIREMENTS

- Android device version 4.0 or later.

Hi Sven, If your Android device is able to take a Photo Sphere (360° x 180° -> 4000px X 2000px) with the official Google Maps app, then if you display it in the Gallery app, and touch the share button, a Google Maps entry allows you to publish it publicly and see it as a blue dot on the Maps. Actually, Google Street View is made with a lot of photos spheres! Those kinds of photos spheres can also be used directly in my app, Small-Planet, by touching the Camera icon to make a stereographic projection with it.
